In 2014 EFQUEL will join forces with the LINQ 2014 Conference to create a mega event for Quality and Innovation in education and learning.
LINQ is a leading annual European and international Conference on Learning Innovations and Learning Quality (www.learning-innovations.eu). It has attracted a large attendance in its last conferences from Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
The event will take place in a stunning venue in Crete, Greece, on 7-9 May 2014. It will bring together experts and practitioners from the public as well as corporate education and training world, such as higher education, VET, schools and other education sectors into a unique quality conference with the title: Changing the Trajectory – Quality for Opening up Education.
The ELIG Exploratorium Lab workshop was carried out in Porto, Portugal during April 8th. More details can be found here.
The seminar gathered 15 representatives from the best VISIR cases as well as some other 40 relevant stakeholders with the aim to discuss the issue of innovation scalability and mainstreaming, starting from real-life experiences, and to draw recommendations that should make education systems more receptive towards grassroots innovation.
HoTEL project was represented by Vana Kamtsiou (Brunel University) with a presentation about sucessful cases related to scalability and mainstreaming of ICT-enalbe learning innovations.

This workshop aims at gathering experts views in order to improve together the HoTel Innovation Support Model (ISM) which is based on the recent developments in technology areas that can affect the way we are organizing, delivering and managing learning and education in the future.
The final endeavor of the workshop is to generate, out of a brainstorming that will take into account a mapping of theories, emerging/disrupting technologies and learning practices, a set of ideas to make the HoTEL ISM more useful and fitting for practice. The results from the workshop will be reported on a white paper and submitted to the European Commission. The workshop will start on Thursday evening with a social event and Friday sessions will be based on working groups and strategic conversations.
